About Spring Dowel Pin
Slotted spring pins (roll pins) are a single-piece, self-retaining alternative to a solid dowel pin — the longitudinal slot lets the pin compress on insertion and spring back against the bore wall, holding it in place without a separate retaining feature. They're used for shaft-to-hub retention, pivot pins in linkages, and locating pins in jigs and fixtures. Kesharia stocks light duty pins, sized to IS 4218 (Part VI)-1967 Class H6 with a preferred length range of 4mm to 30mm, and heavy duty pins in the same standard covering 20mm to 200mm lengths for higher shear-load applications. Both are supplied in stainless steel and high-tensile steel grades; exact nominal diameter and length combinations are confirmed against the standard's dimensional table on enquiry.
